Description

If you prefer to let your LEICA R8 advance the film, wind the shutter and rewind the film... The winder is attached to the base of the camera and it blends harmoniously with its styling. It enables you to take picture sequences at up to 2 frames per second and it operates extremely quiet.

Attached to a LEICA R8, this high performance drive forms an extraordinarily well-balanced unit. Its perfect ergonomics, the integrated grip strap and the two separate release buttons for horizontal and vertical pictures provide the combined unit with incomparable handiness any situation. It features the choice of single frame advance or sequences of up to 2 or 4.5 exposures per second. Automatic exposure series (bracketing) are also available. Available in a set that includes a high power battery pack and a universal rapid charger.

The MOTOR-DRIVE R8 provides immediate readiness at all times, it simplifies work during extended shooting sessions, it permits fast picture sequences on demand, and it even opens many other interesting photo-graphic possibilities.

Features

• The MOTOR-DRIVE R8 is equipped with an ergonomically perfectly positioned shutter release button of its own at the top of the grip section. It operates exactly like the camera's own one: slight pressure = light metering, 1st pressure point = exposure memory lock, and 2nd pressure point = shutter release.
• The additional shutter release button on the base section allows the usual handling in case of vertical-format shots. Especially when many of theses shots are to be made in sequence it contributes decisively to comfortable operation. This shutter release button can also be locked against accidental use by means of the concentrically positioned switch.
• A Tommy-screw facilitates quick and easy attachment and removal of the MOTOR-DRIVE R8. The Drive itself is of course also fitted with a 1/4" threading for tipod mounting as well as a guide hole according to DIN to secure alignment.
• The lever for motorized rewinding allows two functions: The initial activation - for which the release button on the camera must be pressed first - will leave the film leader protruding from the cartridge. A second activation allows completion of rewinding.
• The two controls for frame speed selection and bracketing are combined in one unit. The lower lever allows the choice between single frame advance (S), and two series modes with either up to 2fps (CL) or up to 4.5fps (CH). The three positions of the upper lever represent: 0 = Bracketing inactive, +_0.5 EV = 3 exposures deviating by 1/2 EV respectively, and+_1 EV = 3 exposures deviating by 1 EV respectively.
